Our Appointment Policy

We work hard to ensure that all of your visits to our practice are a good experience. Our schedules are designed to allow both you and your physician or nurse practictioner time to examine your child and review any concerns you or they may have. We aim to respect the value of your time and see you promptly.
As a courtesy, we attempt to confirm all prescheduled appointments by phone, text or email 24-48 hours prior to your scheduled time.
Cancellations must be received within 24 hours. When an appointment is missed without cancellation, your account may be assessed a $20.00 No Show fee for the time that we were unable to utilize for patient care. In that case, please come prepared to take care of your account balance at your next appointment.

If you are more than 10 minutes late for a prescheduled well visit, we may have to ask you to reschedule for another day. For an emergency visit, we may have to ask you to wait til the next available opening in the day's schedule.

We do NOT have regular scheduled hours on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day,  Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas . However a provider from Mt. Airy Pediatrics, PC is always available by phone for urgent medical concerns about your child.

Below is a partial list of the health insurance companies our office currently has signed contracts with. If your plan is not listed below, please contact your particular plan to verify that we are "in-network" with them.

  • All Pennsylvania Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans including Personal Choice, Blue Shield Federal Employee Plans.
  • All Independence Blue Cross Plans including Keystone Health Plan East, Amerihealth HMO and PPO, as well as Independence Administrators.
  • Most out-of-state Blue Shield Plans
  • All Aetna Plans ( HMO, PPO, POS, Choice plans)
  • Keystone First
  • United Healthcare ( only private plans, we do not have a contract with the Medicaid MCO)
  • Cigna Healthcare HMO and PPO
  • Aetna Better Health and Aetna Better Health Kids
  • Health Partners and Kidz Partners
Some small private health insurance companies will pay us for services on a fee for service basis. It is always best to verify specific reimbursement rules with your individual plan prior to your child's appointment.

Effective 1/1/2021, we have updated our billing practices regarding receiving payments and instituted a Credit Card on File policy. If you have a copay or deductible/coinsurance plan we will require a debit card, credit card or HSA card be kept on file with our office.
