At Mt. Airy Pediatrics, P.C. we firmly believe that all children and young adults should receive all of the recommended vaccines according to the schedule published by the Centers for Disease Control and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
We firmly believe in the effectiveness of vaccines to prevent serious illness and to save lives. However we also recognize that the choice to vaccinate your child may be a very emotional one for some parents.
We will do everything we can to help you make an informed and objective decision about vaccinating according to the recommended schedule. However, should you have doubts, questions or additional questions our physicians and nurse practitioners are always available to discuss them with you. We consider it our job to help alleviate your concerns and reservations, about any health related issues, including the safety and efficacy of vaccines.
If your child has an upcoming appointment and is due for immunizations on that day, and you have concerns about the vaccines that you would like to discuss with your medical provider, please contact them ahead of time using the Patient Portal. In order to be courteous to our other patients, we can not plan to extend appointments to discuss vaccine concerns. Parents also have the option to schedule separate appointments to discuss their vaccine concerns. Such additional visits may require additional copays on your part.
