Appointment Request

Appointments & Scheduling

The telephone is a vital link between our families and us, and we want to make your “calling in” experiences as efficient and helpful as possible. Our regular office hours are 8:30 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday; please call during those hours to schedule any type of appointment. In addition, you can stay connected with Mt. Airy Pediatrics 24/7 by logging into your Patient Portal account. If you are unable to reach us via the portal and have a non-urgent request , you may fill out the form below. Someone from our practice will call or email you back within 48 hours to confirm the date and time you requested or offer alternative dates and times that accommodate your schedule. This form is only for requesting appointments that do not require medical attention within 24 hours.

Sick Visits/Same day appointments

Please call for sick visit or same day appointments as soon as possible after 7:30 am. Regular office hours to make sick visit appointment are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, but if you know you would like your child seen, calling early will give you the most options for appointment times.  When you call, please listen carefully to the recording for all of your options and follow the directions which will give you the choices needed to make appointments for sick visits, renew medication, or leave a message for your doctor or nurse practitioner.

Well Care

Please call to make checkup appointments during regular office hours, Monday through Friday.  We encourage parents  to make checkup appointments well in advance, especially if you plan on coming in during the spring and summer months. Our reminder system sends out weekly reminders 10-12 weeks before your child is due for a checkup appointment, as well as immunizations. We strongly encourage you to use the Patient Portal for checkup appointment requests. The portal is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A staff member will reply to your request within 48 hours

Prescription Renewals

To renew medications, please call during regular business hours and follow the prompts. Please leave as much information as possible in your message. We also encourage you to use the Patient Portal for prescription refill requests. You may also contact your pharmacy for renewals; they will then contact our office.

Evenings and Weekends

A clinician from our practice is always available to answer calls about urgent medical concerns during evenings and weekends. Please note that the phone message you hear if you call after 5:00 pm on weekdays and on weekends will be different; simply listen and follow the prompts to contact the on-call physician for that day.

Consultations

There are times when it is helpful to meet with parents who are expecting, or parents with or without their child.  These visits are scheduled as consultations. If you would like to schedule a prenatal "meet and greet" or a consultation for a current patient of the practice, please call during regular office hours and we will gladly set up a time for you to come in.
